ABOUT BHAKTINAGAR POLICE STATION

Bhakti Nagar Police Station was a part of erstwhile
Jalpaiguri District and was created in the year 1986 vide notification no.
1739PL/PB 23/ 84 dated 25.02.1986 of Home Police Department. The Police Station
covers around half the jurisdiction of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police area and
accounts for more than 50% of the cases registered within this Commissionerate.
It caters to an area of 323.76 Sq Km. covering 14wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation
and 6GP i.e. Dabgram I GP, Dabgram II GP, Fulbari I GP, Fulbari II GP,
Mantadhari GP, Binnaguri GP. The area has also witnessed a rapid growth in population
which has grown from 3,43,862 as per 2001 census to 4, 45,537 as per 2011
census. Several major establishments like New Jalpaiguri Rly. Stn., Railway
administrative office, IOC terminal, BPCL terminal, FCI godown, Industrial
growth centre, UttarKanya (Mini Secretariat ), Doordarshan Bhawan, All India Radio
Station, Mahananda River Barrage and a no. of shopping malls and business
establishments come under this Police Station.
