Bagdogra PS Case No. 298/2024 Dtd. 31.08.2024 U/S 21(c)/23(c)/29 of NDPS Act: - Started over the complaint of SI Samik Paul of Bagdogra PS, SPC against namely (i) Bimal Ghosh, aged 39 years, s/o- Nitai Ghosh, resident of Deshbandhupara, PS- Naxalbari, Dist- Darjeeling, (ii) Ramjan Shek, aged 19 years, s/o- Nurul, resident of Nandalalpure, PS- Baisnabnagar, Dist- Malda and (iii) Emran Shek, aged 19 years, s/o- Sarafat Shek @ Mantu, resident of Chowri Anantapure, PS- Kaliyachak, Dist- Malda (not verified)to the effect that he received a specific source input that three persons were coming from Siliguri Side towards Naxalbari area Through AH 2 with huge quantity of Brown Sugar for delivering the same to their designed customers for their clandestine disposal. Accordingly SI Samik Paul along with other officers and force reached at Singhijhora, PS Bagdogra, Dist. Darjeeling and apprehended above noted 03 accused persons and recovered 1) One black colour plastic carry bag containing four (04) packets of said to be Brown sugar total weighing 405 grams, duly packed & sealed inside a yellow colour envelope marked as Exhibit-A. 2) One green colour plastic carry bag containing four (04) packets of said to be Brown sugar total weighing 404 grams, duly packed & sealed inside a yellow colour envelope marked as Exhibit-B. 3) One red & yellow colour bag written as “Arif Dresses, Golapganj Kaliyachak Malda”.4) One red colour TVS Apache motorcycle without number plate having Chassis no. MD634CE65H2E17027 & Engine No. CE6EH2017078. 5) One black colour Realme mobile phone.6) One silver colour vivo mobile phone.7) One black colour vivo mobile phone from the accused persons noted above. The said to be Brown Suger found kept concealed inside one red & yellow colour bag written as “Arif Dresses, Golapganj Kaliyachak Malda in hanging condition at the backside of the said motorcycle. On demand they could not produce any valid documents/papers in respect of the said Brown sugar as well as any documents of said motorcycle. Hence, SI Samik Paul seized those articles (suspected Brown Sugar) from their possession in presence of Gazetted officer Shri Debasish Bose, Assistant Commissioner of Police, West II, S.P.C as well as independent witnesses. Accordingly, SI Samik Paul arrested the above noted 03 (Three) accused persons after observing all the formalities and informing the ground of their arrest and issued necessary Memo of arrest. On further asked they confessed in presence of Special Executive Magistrate and other witnesses that they procure the brown sugar clandestinely from Siliguri side for the purpose of supply the same to their designed customers at BDR area as per their requirement for their personal gain by illegal means.
