Bagdogra PS Case No-583/23 Dt-12.12.2023 U/S-411/414 IPC R/W sec-11(1) (d)(e)(f)(h) of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 was started over the written complaint of ASI Everentius Dempta of Bagdogra PS under Siliguri Police Commissionerate to the effect that while he along with force were performing night van duty on 12.12.23 at about 02:05 hrs he received a secret source of information that one vehicle having Registration No. WB-59-D-0650 was coming on Asian Highway from Naxalbari side towards Bagdogra side loaded with huge numbers of cattle illegally. Accordingly the complainant shared the information with OC Bagdogra PS and as per his direction he along with force left for Kestopur More under Bagdogra PS to verify the veracity of information. At about 02-45 hrs they reached at Kestopur More and intercepted the vehicle i.e. One vehicle (TATA LPT Full Body Truck) having registration No- WB-59-D-0650 and apprehended the driver who disclosed his name and identity as namely Kamrul Alam (27) S/O Lt. Gafur Ali of Ward No. 14, Nichitpur, PS. Dalkhola Dist Uttar Dinajpur and recovered Thirty Seven (37) numbers of cattle in different color and size which were loaded on the vehicle. On being asked, the said driver failed to produce any valid License/ papers to carry the said Cattle in that vehicle and also failed to produce any papers in respect of the said Cattles and stated that he was carrying those Cattles to Fulbari side, Jalpaiguri for sale from Naxalbari side and confessed his guilt. Accordingly the complainant seized the Thirty Seven (37) numbers of Cattle in different colour and sizes and the said vehicle ( TATA LPT Full Body Truck) having registration No- WB-59-D-0650 under proper seizure list and arrested the above noted accused person U/S 41 Cr P.C as it is violation of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. The seized cattle were handed over to the Fulbari Khoyar for safe custody. The seizure and arrest was made in between 03-05 hrs to 04-15 hrs (.) IO- ASI Ashok Sarki of Bagdogra PS, SPC (.)
