New Jalpaiguri PS Case No. 1152/2023 Dtd. 20.12.2023 U/S 21(c)/22 (c)/25/28/29 of N.D.P.S Act: - Started over the written complaint of PSI Sonu Chik Baraik of new Jalpaiguri PS to the effect that on 20.12.2023 at 14.10 hrs received a specific source input that one vehicle having Registration No. UP 21 CN/ 7105 is coming from U.P. side towards Assam with a view to clandestine disposal of ‘PHENSEDYL’ to his designated customer for his illegal gain and the deal will be held at Canal Road in front of Mahananda Barrage Project under NJP PS area. As per the kind direction of O.C. PS PSI Sonu Chik Baraik along with other officers and force had been to Canal Road in front of Mahananda Barrage Project and apprehended two persons who disclosed their identity as (i) Lahaik Ahamed s/o Sarafat Ali of Mommadpur, Tanda, PS + Dist. Sambal, UP and (ii) Nadir Ali s/o Yunus Ali of Bandra, PS Pithare, Dist. Meerat, UP and recovered (i) 19,900 (Nineteen thousands and nine hundreds) bottles ‘PHENSEDYL’ cough syrup containing 100 ml in each bottle in 20 (Twenty) packets containing 199 (One hundred ninety-nine ) cartoons from the possession of above noted accused persons in presence of Gazetted officer Shri Moksedur Rahaman, Assistant Commissioner of Police, East I, Siliguri Police Commissionerate detailed for acting as Special Executive Magistrate, of SPC as well as independent witnesses. On interrogation in presence of Gazetted officer Shri Suraj Thakuri, WBPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, EB, Siliguri Police Commissionerate detailed for acting as Special Executive Magistrate, of SPC as well as independent witnesses they failed to produce any valid document in support of possessing/procurement of said to be PHENSEDYL’ cough syrup which was recovered from their possession . Accordingly, PSI Sonu Chik Baraik seized the same after preparing a proper seizure list, labeled and arrested the above noted persons and informed them regarding the ground of arrest for violating the provision of NDPS Act in presence of Gazetted officer Sri. Moksedur Rahaman, Assistant Commissioner of Police, East I, Siliguri Police Commissionerate as well as independent witnesses (.) P.O: Canal Road in front of Mahananda Barrage Project, PS- NJP, (.)
