New Jalpaiguri PS Case No. 1148/2023 Dtd. 18.12.2023 U/S 20 (b)(ii)(c)/25 /28/29 of N.D.P.S Act: - Started over the written complaint of SI Samik Paul of New Jalpaiguri PS to the effect that on 18.12.2023 at 14.45 hrs received a specific source input that one vehicle having registration no. UP 60 L/ 4328 is coming from Assam side with huge consignment of suspected to be Ganja for it’s clandestine disposal. As per the kind direction of O.C. PS SI Samik Paul along with other officers and force had been to Ramkrishna Dhaba @ Pradip Hotel and intercepted the vehicle having registration no. UP 60 L/ 4328 and apprehended 03 persons who disclosed their identity as 1) Rintu Kumar Prasad (26), S/o- Bijay Prasad of Ramdatali, PS- Sahapur, Dist- Bhojpur, Bihar, 2) Raju Yadav (35), S/o- Choton Yadav of Chitkuri Chakia, PS- Mafasil, Dist- Bhojpur, Bihar and 3) Inderdev Prasad (75), S/o- Lt. Shiv Prasad of Parasia, PS- Barahapur, Dist- Buxer, Bihar and recovered Total 10 (ten) plastic packets containing 321.200 kgs (three hundred twenty one kgs two hundred grams) suspected to be Ganja from the said truck in hidden condition in presence of Gazetted officer Shri Kartick Dey, WBPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic (HQ), Siliguri Police Commissionerate detailed for acting as Special Executive Magistrate, of SPC as well as independent witnesses. On interrogation they failed to produce any valid document in support of possessing/procurement of said to be Ganja which was recovered their vehicle loaded in the back side. On being demanded they failed to produce any valid documents in R/O said vehicle bearing registration No.- UP 60 L/ 4328. Accordingly, SI Samik Paul seized the same after preparing a proper seizure list, label and arrested the above noted persons and informed them regarding the ground of arrest for violating the provision of NDPS Act in presence of Gazetted officer Shri Kartick Dey, WBPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic (HQ), Siliguri Police Commissionerate as well as independent witnesses.
