BHAKTINAGAR PS (Ashighar OP) CASE NO. 860/22, Dated: 08.08.2022, U/S- 21 (c) of NDPS Act, 1985.Started instant case over the written complaint of SI Pradip Kr. Singha of Ashighar OP under Bhaktinagar PS, SPC to the effect that, on 08. 08..2022 at 19.25 hrs he received a secret source information that, one person is standing at, Kankata More, Ashighar and he possess huge quantity of Brown Sugar with a view to sale the same in Siliguri and its adjoining area. Accordingly, after getting permission from superiors, he along with other officers and force had been to the P.O. At about 19.45 hrs, on arrival there as identified by his source they surrounded one person who standing at Kankata More. On being asked he disclosed his name & identity as Bijay Barman (30 yrs) S/O- Lt. Kolen Barman of Matigara Typist Market, PS- Matigara, Dist- Darjeeling. On being searched inpresent of independent witnesses and Gazetted Officer, the complainant recovered three numbers of packets of said to be Brown Sugar weight 258 grams, wrapped in polithin packets which he was kept conceal inside a orange & black coloured hand bag. Accordingly, the complainant seized all the above noted articles in presence of independent witnesses and Gazetted Officer under proper seizure list and arrested above noted accused person u/s- 41 Cr.P.C after observing all rules & formalities.
