Bagdogra PS Case No. 303/2025 Dtd. 12/08/2025 U/S- 25 (1-A) of Arms Act: Started over the written complaint of SI DebabrataKundu of Bagdogra PS, S.P.C. alleging against one arrested accused person namely ShekharSaha, aged 27 years, s/o- Kamal KishorSaha, resident of Madhujote, PO- Lichupakhri, PS- Phansidewa, Dist- Darjeeling to the effect that today on 12.08.2025 he received credible source information that one suspect carrying & possessing firearms & ammunitions will come and wait near Jangli Baba more beside AH-02 under Bagdogra PS jurisdiction to sell firearms to his designed customer for his wrongful gain. Accordingly, he appraised the matter to O/C Bagdogra PS and as per his direction he formed a team with other officers and force and left for Jangli Baba more beside AH-02 under Bagdogra PS to work out the secret source information. On arrival near Jangli Baba more beside AH-02 under Bagdogra PS and they made ambushed there. After a long time, source informed that the suspect has been waiting in a tea stall at Jangli Baba more beside AH-02. Accordingly, as per identification and indication by source, they managed to apprehend one person there in presence of independent witnesses. On interrogation, he revealed his identity as noted above. On search, One iron made single barrel country-made improvised firearms locally called as ‘DesiKatta’ measuring total length 34.5 cm having barrel length 20.5 cm, body length 9.5 cm & butt (made of iron) length 8.5 cm with one active hammer, one firing pin, one trigger & One 7.7 mm X 56 mm live ammunition measuring length 7.6 CM were recovered from his possession.. On prolong interrogation he disclosed that he had been carrying & possessing the said improvised firearms with live ammunition illegally from Bihar and he had been waiting there in order to sell the firearms & ammunition to his designed customer for his wrongful gain. On demand, he failed to produce any valid license/document for possessing & carrying firearms & live ammunition. Subsequently, he arranged to measure the recovered firearms & ammunition and seized them from his exclusive possession under proper seizure list and labeled the same in presence of independent witnesses. At last, he arrested him after communicating him the ground of arrest in writing and issued memo of arrest in this regard. The process of search, seizure & arrest was done in between 22:39 hrs& 22:53 hrs on 12.08.2025. The entire process of search, seizure & arrest is done through audio-video electronic means using mobile phone and then the same audio-video record is converted to a pen drive using computer system(.)
