Bhaktinagar PS Case No. 742/25, Dated: 27.07.2025, U/S- 21(c)/22(c)/25/29 of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act):Started instant case over the written complaint of SI SrimantaChatterjee S/o Lt. Debi Prasad Chatterjee of Bhaktinagar PS, SPC to the effect that on 26.07.2025 at about 22:15 hrs, he received a reliable source input that one two male persons were standing at Salugara, NH-10 near Thute bazar with a large quantity of illegal cough syrup for delivering the same to their designed customers at Salugara area. Accordingly he along with force left to work out the information. At about 22:40 hrs they reached at Salugara, NH-10 near Thute bazar and after arriving there, as indicated by source they detained two male persons with a DIO Scooty having Registration No- WB74AW/2374. On interrogation they disclosed their name and address as (1) RudraPrakash Bhandari-38yrs s/o Lt Chandra Singh Bhandari of Upper Bhanunagar, near Bajaj Showroom, Ward No-43, PS - BhaktinagarDist – Jalpaiguri and (2) Diwas Chhetri-19yrs s/o GopalChhetri of Somesrinagi, PS Dentam West Sikkim. Subsequently, under the supervision of Gazette Police Officer and in presence of witnesses the process of search of the detained persons was conducted and recovered (1) 25 (Twenty five) Bottles of PHENSEDYL Cough Syrup each bottle containing 100 ML having Composition, Triprolidine Hydrochloride 1P 1.5mg, Codeine phosphate IP 10 mg (Total weight 25pcs X100 ML=2500 ML = 2.5 Ltrs) (2) One blue and white colour DIO Scooty having Registration No-WB74AW/2374, (3) One Black colour i-phone having IMEI No-350355613221724 with sim no-9332530021, (4) One Samsung Galaxy mobile A13 phone phone having IMEI No-351204853054552 & 353086183054552 with sim no-8695846510 & 7479075950 of RudraPrakashBhandari and (5) One backpack. On demand they failed to produce any valid document in support of aforesaid recovered syrup. He then seized the above noted articles under proper seizure list duly signed by the independent witnesses. The whole process of search & seizure was captured in audio & VDO graphed in between dated 26.07.25 at 23.30 hrs to dated 27.07.25 at 00.40 hrs. Then, he arrested the above noted accused persons (1) RudraPrakashBhandari and (2) DiwasChhetri after observing all formalities and informing the ground of their arrest and issued necessary Memo of Arrest u/s 35 of BNSS.
