Bhaktinagar PS Case No. 736/25, Dated: 25.07.2025, U/S- 25 (1A) of The Arms Act, 1959 (Arms Act): Started instant case over the written complaint of SI Youellepcha S/o Jai TsheringLepcha of Bhaktinagar PS, SPC to the effect that on 25.07.2025 at about 00.30 hrs received an information from a credible source that a person, approximately 28/29 years of age, was moving suspiciously armed with a weapon on Sevoke Road, in front of the City Plaza building. Accordingly he along with force left to work out the information. At around 00:45 hours, they arrived at Sevoke road, and as per source information, they managed to apprehend him. Upon questioning, he identified himself as Deepraj Singh, 28 years S/o Lt. Acchalal Singh, of Upper Bhanu Nagar, PO Sevoke Road, PS Bhaktinagar, Jalpaiguri District and further admitted that he was present in the area with firearms loaded with ammunition, intending to commit a crime. During search, he recovered 1) One-shutter improvised fire arms fitted with Trigger, Hammer, Firing Pin and Butt (wooden) measuring approx 10 inch (Barrel to Butt) and 2) One live Cartridge from his waist. When asked, he was unable to provide any valid documents or proof concerning the firearms. Therefore, he seized and labeled the items in accordance with proper procedures, prepared a seizure list in the presence of the witnesses, and obtained their signatures. A copy of the seizure list was provided to the apprehended individual between 01:25 hours and 02:05 hours. The entire seizure process was conducted with audio-video recording, and he arrested him under Section 35 of the BNSS.I.O- ASI DhrubaMisra.
