BHAKTINAGAR PS Case No. 672/25, Dated: 10.07.2025, U/S 21(c)/22(c) of NDPS Act (Special Act): Started instant case over the written complaint of SI SrimantaChatterjee S/o Lt. Debi Prasad Chatterjee of Bhaktinagar PS, SPC to the effect that on 09.07.25 at about 19.10 hrs, received a reliable source input that one person was standing at P.C Mittal bus stand, ward no-43 under Bhaktinagar PS with huge quantity of illegal cough syrup for delivering the same to his designed customers at Siliguri area for his wrongful gain. Accordingly, after obtaining necessary permission from superiors he along with police team left to work out the information. At 19.30 hrs they reached at P.C Mittal bus stand and on being indicated by source they apprehended one person namely SubhamSahani @ Godu (20 yrs) S/O- ShambhuSahani of Bhabasindhu colony, near Radio Center, Ward No-42, PS Bhaktinagar, Dist. Jalpaiguri and on being searched in presence of Gazette Police Officer they recovered (i) 21 (Twenty one) Bottles of R-Kuff Cough Syrup each bottle containing 100 ML having Composition, Chlorpheniramine Maleate IP 04mg, Codeine phosphate IP 10 mg (Total weight 21pcs X100 ML=2100 ML = 2.1 Ltrs) and (ii) One blue colour back pack “Quechua” written in outside of the bag. On demand he was unable to produce any valid document in support of possessing the cough syrup. Accordingly, the complainant seized the recovered articles under proper seizure list duly signed by the independent witnesses, accused and the police personals and gazette officer. The whole process of search & seizure was audio & video graphed in between 21.40 hrs to 22.30 hrs.
