Bagdogra PS Case No 134/2025 Dated 29/04/25 U/S 21(c)/23(c)/29 of NDPS Act has been registered over the written complaint of SI Debabrata Kundu of Bagdogra PS alleging against four accused persons namely (i) Jayanta Barman(30) S/O Late Prasunna Barman, resident of Panitanki, Goursingjote, PS- Kharibari, Dist- Darjeeling, (ii) Shubho Barman (20) S/O Bablu Barman, resident of Panitanki, Warisjote, PS- Kharibari, Dist- Darjeeling, (iii) Masud Alam, (20) S/O Abdul Salam, resident of Majampur, Haruchak, PS- Kaliachak, Dist- Malda and (iv) Rony Alam @ Abdul Matin Biswas (19) S/O Late Abdul Kalam, resident of Majampur, Haruchak, PS- Kaliachak, Dist- Malda (not verified) to the effect that on 29.04.2025 as per specific source input he along with other officers and force as identified by source apprehended above noted four accused person who were waiting with a brown colourscooty without number plate at the Service Road of AH-02 near Uttora Gate No- 2 (.) On being asked they revealed their identity as noted above and Shubho Barman & Jayanta Barman were sitting on the said scooty and Masud Alam & Rony Alam @ Abdul Matin Biswas were waiting in front of them (.) They have possessed & carried substance suspected to be brown sugar for delivering the same to their designed customers (.) Further he informed the fact to Shri Kajal Sarkar, Inspector of Police, Detective Department, SPC regarding the apprehension of four suspects suspected to be possessed with Brown Sugar including one TVS Jupiter 125’ scooty without number plate and requested him to come at the Service Road of AH-02 near Uttora Gate No. 2 under Bagdogra PS and to supervise the process of search and seizure, if any (.) Accordingly, on his arrival the process of search & seizure was started in presence of witnesses and recovered (i) one Infinix android mobile phone and three plastic packets contains substance suspected to be “brown sugar” were recovered from one brown colour side bag possessed by Masud Alam, (ii) Two plastic packets contains substance suspected to be “brown sugar” and one Vivo android mobile phone were recovered from the possession of accused Rony Alam, (iii) five plastic packets contains substance suspected to be “brown sugar” were recovered from the TVS Jupiter 125 scooty (kept concealed inside seat), (iv) one ‘One Plus 11’ android mobile and cash Rs. 8000/- were also recovered from the possession of accused Jayanta Barman and (v) one ‘Oppo A3 Pro 56’ android mobile phone was recovered from the possession of accused Shubho Barman (.) They all identified the substance as “Brown Sugar” (.) On demand in presence of the Gazetted Officer and the independent witnesses they failed to produce any valid document in support of possessing of that substance suspected to be brown sugar which they had carried (.) Thereafter, he arranged to weigh the recovered plastic packets suspected to be Brown Sugar in presence of the Gazetted Officer and the independent witnesses with the weighing instrument and found measuring 104 grams, 103 grams, 104 grams, 104 grams, 103 grams, 103 grams, 103 grams, 103 grams, 104 grams & 104 grams respectively (.) On further interrogation, they confessed that Masud Alam & Rony Alam @ Abdul Matin Biswas have procured those all packets suspected to be brown sugar clandestinely from Kaliachak and had delivered five packets suspected to be brown sugar to Jayanta Barman &Shubho Barman (.) They had been waiting there for the payment of the consignment (.) Accordingly he seized the above noted recovered articles from their joint possession at the spot under proper seizure list in presence of the Gazetted Officer as well as the independent witnesses through audio-video electronic means [ Total weight=1035 gram](.)
