Siliguri PS (D.D. SPC) Case No 989/21Dated 08.08.2021 U/S- 22 (c) of NDPS Act. P.O- Manik Banerjee Sarani, Rabindra Nagar, w/n-21 PS-Siliguri Dist-Darjeeling.Brief: Started instant case on the written complaint of SI Biswajit Ghosh of Detective Department, SPC, Siliguri to the effect that, on 07.08.21 he received a reliable source information that the two persons were storing and selling huge quantity of cough syrup and Capsules at one garage cum godown of Manik Banerjee Sarani, Rabindra Nagar, w/n-21 PS-Siliguri Dist-Darjeeling to the drug addicts at higher prices without prescriptions for their wrongful gain. Accordingly complainant along with other officers & force and team of SOG SPC left for Manik Banerjee Sarani, Rabindra Nagar, W/No-21 PS-Siliguri Dist-Darjeeling vide DD, SPC GDE No 42 Dtd 07.08.21. At about 21.05 hrs, they arrived at said garage cum godown as indicated by the source and in presence of local witnesses, entered there and found that two persons were arranging several cartoons which were supposed to be taken out of the Godown. The two persons present inside the godown being asked to identify themselves he detained the said person who disclosed his name & identity as (i) Dipak Paul (37yrs) S/O-Lt Debendra Nath Paul of New Palpara, Netaji Sarani near Mahamaya Sporting Club, W/No-39, PS-Bhaktinagar Dist-Jalpaiguri & (ii) Ganesh Saha (31yrs) S/O-Lt Gopal Ch Saha of Purba Vivekanandapally, Rajarammohon Roy Road ,W/No-38 PS-Bhaktinagar, Dist-Jalpaiguri A/P-Madhya Chayanpara, Gopla Ghosh more, W/No-37 PS-Bhaktinagar Dist-Jalpaiguri and recovered (i) 09 Cartoons of ONEREEX Cough Syrup containing 144 bottles each. Each bottle contains 100 ml which contains mixture of 10mg Codeine Phosphate & Chlopheniramine Maleate syrup 4mg, having batched no. TBHU0985 Manufactured by Three B Health Care Ltd, Opp Dental College, Rampur road Paonta Sahib, Dist.- Sirmour (H.P.) – 173025, (Total bottles 1296 Pieces ) Each bottle MRP Rs. 144.90/- and (ii) One cartoon of SPASMO-PROXYVON PLUS capsules,
Batch no-WAA1069 Manufactured by Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Quantity (70x18x8 capsules=10080 capsules) in presence of Gazetted officer and independent witnesses. On being asked to justify about their presence in the said godown with those packed cartoons, they could not give any satisfactory answer and confessed that those packed articles were drugs which were obtained fraudulently from somewhere with intension to sell at Siliguri and surrounding areas illegally for their wrongful gain. On demand they failed to produce any documents to support the possession of said drugs. Accordingly, the complainant seized the said Cough Syrup after observing all rules and formalities under proper seizure list and arrested the above noted accused persons. Arrest: 02. I.O.
