BHAKTINAGAR PS CASE NO. 609/21, Dated: 05.06.2021, U/S 188/269/270 IPC r/w 51(b) OF Disaster Management Act 2005 & 3 /4 West Bengal Gambling & Prize Competition Act 1957(OTHERS).Started over the written complaint of ASI Rabin Lama of Bhaktinagar PS/SPC to the effect that on 05.06.2021 at 00.05 hrs in course of performing night lock down mobile duty at Sevoke Raod, under Bhaktinagar P.S, Jalpaiguri in order to restrict the unnecessary movement of vehicular traffic for combating the spread of Covid-19, he received an information that some people are gambling at Hotel Sagar Residency, Room No 202, Sevoke road under Bhaktinagar PS and involving wrongful gain of one and wrongful loss of other and they are also violating the lock down order. Accordingly, he along with PC party left for Hotel Sagar Residency, 202 No Room to work out the veracity of the information, on reaching at Hotel Sagar Residency Room No 202, as indicated by the source he found the following persons who disclosed their identify as 1) Birju Agarwal ( 53) S/O- Late Tek Chand Agarwal of Sevoke road near LIC Building PS- siliguri Dist- Darjeeling (2) Promad Kumar Agarwal (56) S/O- Ramniwas Agarwal of Jyotinagar near Pik Chemicals PS- Bhaktinagar Dist- Jalpaiguri (3) Dipak Agarwal (48) S/O- Ram Pratap Agarwal , near LIC Building Sevoke road PS- Siliguri Dist- Darjeeling (4) Keshab Agarwal (49) Late Mahabir Prasad Agarwal , Panjabipara near Sardarji Wine Shop PS- Siliguri Dist- Darjeeling and were playing gambling in exchange of money without wearing any mask thereby violating the Lockdown order issued by the MHA, Central Govt. and State Govt. with the view to contain the spread of pandemic Covid-19, on further search the complainant recovered cash Rs. 4,26,000/ /- (four lack twenty six thousand) and different cards of 52 pcs. Accordingly the complainant seized the above noted articles under proper seizure list and arrested all four persons after maintaining all formalities. I.O: SI Sibdhan Karmakar.
